Men suffering from depression are four times more likely to commit as compared to women.

● WOMEN

Women are twice as likely to become depressed as men. Women are at a higher risk due to hormonal changes resulting because of puberty,menstruation,pregnancy,menopause etc.

● ELDERLY

Older people are more likely to live alone,get ill , thoughts about getting old, losing vitality etc. These factors are common causes for depression in elderly

Our brain is made up of billions of nerve cells called neurons that send and receive messages from the rest of the body with the aid of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. These chemicals affect our emotional state. When these chemical messages are not delivered properly between the brain cells it results in depression.
