Sauna and health
Actually sauna is made for curing the body and the soul and for the Finns sauna has become a sacred place. In the 19th century sauna is considered only for giving birth and other medication, means it is only a hygienic place. The death rate of the newborn baby was much lower, because in the sauna only mother-to-be and midwife only present, so communicable diseases were less likely affect the newborn.
Sauna bath can be taken by everyone, it is recommended. But little baby should not be recommended for taking sauna bath because their body temperature is not well developed. Everybody either it is old or young can take sauna bath. As much you stay in the sauna bath you’ll feel comfortable in that. This rule is applied for all the people because young people can obviously tolerate all things, whilst the older people may feel comfortable.
A small number of illnesses avert a person from taking a modest sauna bath. If a sickness does not cause problems in every day life, it will not avert taking a sauna bath i.e. patients with coronary thrombosis, blood pressure or epilepsy can take a sauna bath. Pregnant women can receive a sauna bath during the whole period of pregnancy, if the whole thing is normal.
You can decrease Skin infections, Influenza, acute wounds and inflammations of joints and muscles and acute back disorders, such as sciatica, after taking sauna bath. Basic rule: keep away from sauna bath if you have any sensitive symptoms.
A modest sauna bath is good for mental and physical well being, but it does not put off or cure illnesses as such. Sauna bath leads to increased blood circulation in the skin, and consequently to increased sweating. In a way, a sauna bath is equal to the physical injure of sports. The best method to imagine the feeling after the sauna bath is to believe of it as the same feeling you get when relaxing after hard physical exercise and a shower.
